BT has recently announced that ISDN and PSTN will no longer be an option to purchase from 2020, as they aim to switch off these legacy circuits by 2025.
The solution? VoIP and SIP trunks.
Businesses will no longer be able to buy any systems that use PSTN or ISDN by 2020. While 2025 may seem a long way off, 2020 is just over two years away. If your current traditional telephony contract is up for renewal within the next few years, now is the time to start exploring the benefits of VoIP and SIP technologies.
If your system doesn’t already support VoIP, you can either replace your entire phone system with an IP one or just invest in an IP-enabled on-site PBX. A hosted telephony system is also a good way to make the switch.
